Story of Representative ~how it started
Hello! My name is Mayumi Komuro and I am a licensed public psychologist in Japan. I am an APAC’s certified play therapist and member of PTI.
Since early years, I had lived, studied, and worked in Germany, the U.S., and Singapore. As much as its fun and excitement, I faced downsides of living abroad such as language barrier, cultural differences, homesickness and loneliness. Unfortunately, it was not easy for foreigner to reach out to professionals and receive psychological support back then.
Moving could cause both positive and negative stress especially to children who come with their parents. They often experience difficult time adopting to new lifestyles and these stress sometimes trigger behavioral, emotional, or communication problems.
I started Tokyo Play therapy Room hoping to give hands to the children who are undergoing the similar difficulties.
